Day 8: Walk the Walk

to catch up on what you may have missed,
check out the entire series here
Exercise is good for the mind. It is good for the body. It is good for the soul.

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise. It is low impact and it suitable for people of all most ages and abilities.

Walking is economical. It involves no gym fees or special clothes (besides decent shoes).

Walking makes you happier. It gets your endorphins flowing-which are happy chemicals. Endorphins make you feel better about yourself and life in general.

Walking briskly for at least 30 minutes a day will often lead to weight loss. Between walking and diet change, my friend Lisa has lost over 60 pounds since July of 2013. (read about her journey here)

Walking strengthens your heart, tones your glutes and calves, and decreases your likelihood of having diabetes.

Walking is easy on knees and backs.

Walking increases libido. Or so I've heard....

Walking can be a social activity. Walk and talk with your family or a friend. There is a couple in their 70s in our neighborhood that walk everyday holding hands. It is sweet. And such an inspiration-faithfulness in marriage and fitness.

Walking can be a moment of quiet in the otherwise chaos of life.

Walking is good for your mind.

Walking provides moments for prayer and reflection.

Walking gives you glimpses of the world around you, and its daily rhythms.

Frankly, I don't know any reason NOT to walk. Walking will definitely help you live a fuller and happier life today-and in the future!

Why not walk the walk today?!

And then head over to the Womanhood with Purpose site to find out a way to warm up from your walk, and to add another healthy element of fullness and renewal to your life. (here)
