Match Made in Heaven

who can resist a little girl and her bear?

I have said before that I am not a huge fan of peanut butter. I'm probably permanently scarred because I had to eat pbj's every day of my growing up life.

Ironic that I now feed my kids pbj's almost everyday of their growing up life.

Peanut butter and jam=not good.

On the other hand, peanut butter and chocolate=amazing! Usually...

Though, I am not a huge fan of Reese's. Mr. Hippie is. He loves peanut butter cups, and reese's pieces. He loves the fast break bars. Me, well, I tend to like the chocolate aspect of peanut butter and chocolate, more than the peanut butter aspect. Double chocolate Reese's peanut butter cups-those are speaking my love language.

I have a few tried and true chocolate and peanut butter dessert recipes. I substitute peanut butter for some of the shortening in my chocolate chip cookies. Plus I have a few other not so secret recipes...
peanut butter pie
reese's peanut butter cheesecake brownies

Today I am going to share a recipe that is the epitome of comfort food in dessert form. Pudding cake. That miracle dessert that involves a batter, topped with sugar and cocoa powder, followed by a good dose of hot water. Bake it, and voila', a cake island surrounded by delicious chocolaty and saucy pudding.

Except this recipe is a special recipe. It is not just your run of the mill chocolate pudding cake. Oh no. It is Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding Cake. The perfect melding of chocolate and peanut butter. Enough chocolate to satisfy the chocolate love language people out there. And enough peanut butter to satisfy that brand of lovers too.

The prep time is short. It usually takes me about 10-15 minutes to whip a batch together. It is great for last minute company.

(confession time...I was sorting through my recipe box trying to figure out what recipe to share this week, when I happened upon this one. My only drawback was that I have no pictures for a post. But, we are having company tonight. So, guess who is making pb pudding cake? It is strictly for pictures, I tell you. Pictures for the blog. And because we are having company. And...well, I swam today.=))
