Seeing Beauty in Order

Some peoples' gifts lean toward decorating. They make their homes worthy of Martha Stewart. Beautiful curtains and furnishings and colors and art.

Not me. I am not much of a decorator. I am too practical. (not that practical people can't be decorators) Stuff breaks, furniture is sat upon by dirty people, and knick-knacks collect dust. My home is more decorated than ever before, but it is still semi-minimalist, practical, neat, simple and currently kid proofed.

But, I see the beauty in that. My home may not be up to Martha Stewart standards (We aren't in the same league. We may not even be playing the same game) but I think my home is beautiful. My home is my haven from the noise and chaos of the outside world.

 I find beauty in order...
